WASHINGTON DC: US President Donald Trump plans to alter the famous Statue of Liberty in New York’s Hudson River to pay tribute to far-right political influencer, the late Charlie Kirk.

“Today I am signing an executive order to remake the Statue of Liberty as a tribute to Charlie … ahh, that guy who was tragically shot and killed last week,” the President told reporters at a White House news conference in the Oval Office while revealing an artist’s impression of the new-look landmark. Mr Trump quickly rounded on a reporter who suggested that the President’s plans appeared to be merely an excuse to promote himself, not Mr Kirk.

“That’s just a horrible, horrible thing to say about a man who was tragically shot,” he said. “But leaving me aside, it disrespects Charlie … ahh, whatshisname too.”

The reporter was then attacked by presidential press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, who used an  electric cattle prod – which she described as her “free-speech wand” – to repeatedly stun the reporter until he ran screaming from the Oval Office after which President Trump resumed his remarks.

“My plan is a fitting tribute to … umm, you know, for his work, and his beliefs,” he said. “Quite frankly it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long, long time because as it stands right now, the Statue of Liberty sends all the wrong signals to America and the world.

“First of all, so-called ‘Lady Liberty’ is an immigrant – from France of all places. Can you believe it? If at all possible I would have sent ICE to detain her long before today and send her back across the border to her own shithole Central American homeland.

“A symbol of freedom and democracy? Pffffft, gimme a break. We can do without that sort of dangerous, far-left, hate-filled, woke ideology.

“Plus we can do without a statue that blatantly encourages ‘huddled masses’ and ‘wretched refuse’ to come to America to take our jobs, rape and murder, and sell drugs. Those sorts of suckers and losers are not who built America or are going to Make America Great Again.

“Plus being a women, the statue was obviously a DEI hire, so she has to go.”

Mr Trump then rounded on another reporter who asked if the President’s plan was a politically motivated ploy to provoke the potential new Mayor of New York City, the Democratic Party’s self-declared socialist and leading candidate, Zohran Mamdani.

“That’s just a horrible, horrible thing to say. Fake news yet again,” he said.

Ms Leavitt once more used her free-speech wand to eject the writhing and screaming reporter from the Oval Office.

Continuing his remarks, Mr Trump said he planned to install loudspeakers in the statue’s new head that would blast MAGA messages in his voice and a selection of his three-hour speeches across the Hudson River to Manhattan.

“I’ll be doing that to provoke the potential new Mayor of New York City, the Democratic Party’s self-declared socialist and leading candidate, Zohran Mamdani,” he explained.

Mr Trump said the project would involve more than just the restructure of the face of the Statue of Liberty.

“I plan to have the statue’s gold-leafed torch removed and installed here in the Oval Office,” he revealed.

When asked if he had sought the views of Charlie Kirk’s widow before announcing his plan for the statue, Mr Trump responded: “Who?”
