ABC bans Murdoch media Righter

MEDIA NEWS:

ABC TV has announced a ban on all future appearances of prominent Murdoch media Righter, Greg Sheridan, on the national broadcaster’s weekly Insiders political discussion program.

The ban follows an embarrassing incident during today’s edition of the program when Mr Sheridan, foreign editor of News Crap Australia’s national broadshit The Australian, managed to put to sleep other panel members and host David Speers.

The program began as normal with a discussion of the past week’s political events among Mark Kenny from the Australian Studies Institute at the Australian National University, senior ABC journalist Isabella Higgins, and Sheridan, led by Speers. (left to far right in main image)

But an ABC source who was in the Canberra studio at the time the program went to air said it soon “went off the rails” during a series of lengthy pontificating answers by Sheridan.

“Greg managed to put Mark Kenny to sleep pretty quickly with one of his early answers,” the source said. (below)

“Poor Isabella struggled valiantly to stay awake when she had to follow up one of Greg’s answers.

“Isabella started to fade while making comments but eventually succumbed and started dozing.

“Greg Sheridan even managed to put himself to sleep during one of his own answers and began dribbling and snoring. (below)

“David Speers held out for a while but then even he succumbed. (below)

“But, being David Speers, even when he was fast asleep he managed to keep interrupting Greg Sheridan and the others even though they were just snoring.

“Luckily they were all asleep for only about 10 minutes and we’re all pretty confident the viewer may not have noticed,” the source said.
