Gold crisis hits the greenback

WASHINGTON DC: The board of the USA’s central bank, the Federal Reserve, is holding an emergency meeting to determine a response to the financial meltdown suddenly afflicting the American and world economies and financial systems.

Economists have blamed the crisis that has sunk the value of the US dollar on US President Donald Trump for organising the removal of US government gold reserves from Fort Knox in Kentucky and using them to cover the White House – now officially name the Trump Gold House. (main picture)

One economist within the central bank who did not wish to be named said Fort Knox (below) was one of several secure facilities across the US which housed the nation’s gold reserves.

“Fort Knox alone has, or should I say had, about 150 million ounces of gold bullion worth more than $6 billion,” the economist said.

“Unfortunately the President has confiscated all of it and used most of it to gold plate what was once the White House.

“This has posed a big problem for the Federal Reserve because it punches a big hole in the bullion underpinning the value of the US dollar which was previously the world’s leading and strongest currency.”

The anonymous economist said in addition to solid-gold cladding for the former White House, some of the Fort Knox reserves had also been melted down to make more ornamental pieces to decorate the Oval Office. (below)

“We all fear that once Fort Knox is emptied, more high-security bullion depositories around the nation will be emptied to help decorate the new $200 million ballroom the President wants to build attached to the White…., I mean the Trump Gold House,” the economist said.

“There seems to be no stopping the President. He’s determined to get his hands on any and all of the US gold reserves to feed his well-known love of a certain ‘look’ in the interior and exterior design of his buildings.

“It’s a look that we’ve seen for many years in Mar-a-Lago and Trump Tower and now in the Oval Office.

“I’m not a design expert but I think that type of design is technically known among architects and designers as Leningrad Brothel,” the economist said.
