Son of a gun misfires

What on earth was Liam Neeson thinking!

There’s only ever been one Detective Frank Drebin and that was Leslie “Nice Beaver” Nielsen.

Neeson was on a hiding to nothing in accepting the role of Drebin’s son in this year’s reboot of the original The Naked Gun movie back in 1988.

Shirley Neeson’s now sacked agent would have sat him down and made him watch arguably one of Hollywood’s greatest physical comedians in Steve Martin blunder through roles as Sergeant Bilko and France’s finest ever detective, Inspector Jacques Clouseau.

There was only one Phil “Doberman!” Silvers and definitely only one Peter “Does your derg bite?” Sellars and shirley only one Leslie “Can’t you take a guess?” Nielsen.

I’m giving this dreadful mistake a big reboot with one and a half Bugs; my guess is that rating would have been even less if I had actually watched it.
