2032 OLYMPICS:

The 2032 Brisbane Olympics remain in grave danger of being axed as games organisers “continue to try to hoodwink Save Victoria Park protesters with nonsense stadium images that suggest the park will retain much of its existing green space”.

That’s the view of an expert who asked not to be named or in what field his expertise lies in.

The expert contacted The Bug’s senior Brisbane Olympics writers’ hub after viewing the latest stadium concepts shown on Nine News Queensland’s 6pm bulletin last night. (top and below)

“As you can see, here’s another bullshit concept to try to hose down the campaign by those park defenders,” our non-expert said. “Can anyone see major pedestrian walkways leading up to the stadium?

“I suppose you could argue it at least depicts less green space and the greater need of a lawn mower than previous attempts using the media to pull the wool over park defenders’ eyes. (below)

“But if the games organisers carry on in this way pumping out ridiculously implausible images of green space everywhere and showing fuck-all access for tens of thousands of spectators to enter and leave the stadium safely, and get on with building the cement jungle required, then Brisbane risks having the games taken off it.”

Asked by The Bug if we could at least call him an expert in safe mass human movement in the built environment, he rang off.
