Paying Jew diligence

Need proof that the ABC has learnt the lesson well from its humiliating and expensive loss in that unfair dismissal case brought by Antoinette Lattouf, namely to stop giving into Zionist demands that anyone critical of Israel needs to be punished severely?

Sadly, I don’t have any. But I do have fairly strong evidence that Aunty still reacts – caves in is perhaps the right word – to the instant Zionist outrage that erupts and the pressure that’s immediately applied the moment any anti-semitic comment (and aren’t they all!) is expressed against the Jewish state.

Cue the Iranian woman who lives in Australia and who appeared on ABC News Breakfast late last week and told of her anguish and fears for her mother and siblings back in her own country that Israel had been bombing the shit out of for several weeks.

And guess what happened shortly after that interview ended? Program co-host James Glenday explained earnestly that a clarification was needed. The poor lady had apparently used the word “invasion” to describe what Israel was doing from a great height over the Islamic country and Glenday was at pains to explain that “invasion” meant boots on the ground and Israel did not have troops in Iran. Well done, Israel! Take that you anti-Semites!

Want to know what the fuck I think? Going to tell you anyway. That woman was totally entitled to use the word “invasion” for the massive aerial invasion that has destroyed huge chunks of the Iranian capital Tehran and other cities and killed many people.

And I have enough faith in James Glenday as a journalist to know he wouldn’t have been responsible for the need that someone higher up in the ABC felt to advise its audience so quickly of one view of what “invasion” means.

Or put another way, would someone at the ABC have rushed so quickly to sanitise a country’s attacks wrongly accused of invasion if that country was Muslim?

Still, all those innocent residents killed when a country with arguably the word’s most ethical and decent military took out nuclear scientists here and there from a very safe height just in case they were toying with the idea of having a bomb must at least be grateful they weren’t invaded to death the old-fashioned way.
