WHAT USED TO BE GAZA CITY: Despite its current focus on attacking Iran, the  Israeli Government says it will press ahead with a program to lift the spirits of Palestinians in Gaza.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government said the new program involved visits to Gaza communities by key cabinet ministers,

“Cabinet ministers will be seeking out any remains of Palestinians, oops…. I mean any remaining Palestinians – sorry, force of habit – and performing songs, dances, or other forms of entertainment,” the spokesperson said.

“This initiative has been kicked off  with a visit today to Gaza by our defence minister Israel Katz. (main picture)

“Mr Katz took his stand-up comedy act to Gaza and by all accounts was a big rocket strike, ooops … I mean a big hit – sorry, force of habit again.

“He actually didn’t get far into his act before he had the locals rolling around in what used to be their homes, clutching their empty stomachs.

“His killer line, oops… Oh. Hang on. No I did actually mean ‘killer’… His killer line was very topical.

“He said that Iran had ‘crossed red lines’ by firing missiles at civilian centres in Israel in retaliation for the latest Israel attacks on Tehran and other centres.

“After that he had the locals eating out of the palm of his hand, possibly because they thought he was holding a real not a rubber chicken.

“Israel Katz has proved the value of this new program to lift Palestinian spirits that complements the Israeli Defence Force’s ongoing military operations that continue to lift hundreds of Palestinian spirts heavenward every day,” the spokesperson said.
