Journo jobs opening up!

THE FOURTH ESTATE:

0ver recent times, good journo jobs have been about as scarce as a policy costing escaping the lips of a shadow minister. But a number of reported sackings of senior staff at both print and electronic platforms have enhanced the chances, especially for those would-be scribes interested in politics.

The Bug understands that an unknown number of booth editors at ABC newsrooms have been shown the door after stupidly suggesting ideas that would show how fair and balanced they are.

For example a number of ABC producers have been sacked for suggesting that just every now and then the likes of Greg Jennett, David Speers and Jane Norman could start and end with vision and comment from Prime Minister Albanese. And that as a general rule, what Peter Dutton says and does isn’t always the best way to start those reports, or to dominate the content.

We understand that sackings have also been numerous at various Newscorpse newsrooms, including Troy “Mavis” Bramston who was frogmarched by security from The Australian (at top, left) for writing that Albanese had won the second leaders’ debate on the ABC last week.

Why would anyone want to risk a career by saying something as reckless and damaging as that, no matter how accurate that assessment was?
