Bet you BUGgers out there were expecting the first winner of our exciting new weekly award for non-excellence in politics reporting to go to Andrew Bolt – or any other LNP publicist from Sky LNPNews for that matter?

Well, we’re not sorry to have to reveal that our judges have gone with an overall award to almost all of the “journalists” covering the campaign… for their total avoidance of what will probably be the most disgustingly vile comment of the five-week ordeal.

Here it is below, as mentioned in the Guardian Australia at least and also picked up by citizen journalists on X and other online platforms.

Peter Dutton said this a few days ago. Crickets from most of the MSM.

Make no mistake, BUGgers. If Anthony Albanese had said this, Murdoch’s rotten rags, his Sky LNPNews hosts, Nine’s radio shock jocks and, sadly, too many others, even those who work for their Aunty, would be arguing that a possible jail term hinted by Dutton would not be punishment enough; Albo needed to be taken out the back and shot. It would have almost universally been reported as “the gaffe/blunder/insult that has ended Albanese’s shot at re-election!”

Even for a pollie always happy to throw personal insults at his opponent, Dutton wondering aloud why Albanese deserves to be convicted in a (unsaid but probably inferred criminal) court is about as Trumpian as it gets. Is Dutton covertly flagging his intention, if elected, to sool the Justice Department onto Albo? Or have him deported to some prison hellhole to our north?

The mainstream mediocre has been banging on about attempts by Dutton to distance himself from Trump recently. His disgraceful comments suggest he is either incapable of or unwilling to do that.

And just a recap why we’ve decided to name the trophy in honour of Phillip Coorey and Chris Uhlmann. And you BUGgers would have cottoned onto the fact that it’s modelled on our monthly Media Glass House media arse-licking award, and the criteria for winning are very much the same.

Throughout their entire mainstream mediocre politics reporting careers on behalf of their masters, they have religiously promoted the unregistered Coorey/Uhlmann Method for Picking Election Winners; that as long as the LNP (hint: it’s a coalition of two parties) were ahead of Labor (hint: one party) on primary votes in any election poll, then the natural parties of power (as God has always intended) were in a solid position to win.

That’s right, in pursuing their own push-polling endeavours, they have always totally ignored the substantial Greens vote (the other central/sort of left party, often with above 10 per cent) and pushed from their minds the entire concept of Australia’s compulsory preferential voting system, no matter how fucking stupid it has made/keeps making them look. Now that’s dedication, right? No shame at all.
