… ever going to end?

Ever since the world’s first printed newspaper rolled off German presses in 1605 (of course we had to look that up!), never, ever has page 3 also been called the front page or the cover page.
Well, that was at least until Gerry Hardly of Hardly Normal infame turned up and changed all that!
Yes, you BUGgers out there know what we are referring to! The habit by subs at The Sydney-Morning Herald, whenever the paper has a Hardly Normal wraparound in its attempts to survive, to folio the inside fake front cover as page 3.
And you’d all be aware our relentless campaign that’s been running for many, many, months now to get those SMH subs to stop calling stories that continue from that page 3 as “From Front Page” or “From Cover Page.” Okay sometimes they don’t use caps.
The last time we roused at them was Thursday last week but the respite from highlighting their stupidity didn’t last long – Wednesday night’s subbing shift in fact.
Here’s page 3 of yesterday’s (Thursday’s) edition…

… and here’s their latest fucking stuffup… Only the one, though, because only one story from that PAGE 3 continued inside the book.

So should we kill-off this campaign of ours because no-one at the SMH is listening? Of course fucking not! We will never give up! We will never surrender! We are in for the long haul.
POSTSCRIPT: Today’s (Friday’s) SMH again has a wraparound, but not Hardly Norman. So on this occasion, they’ve named the inside fake cover that looks more like a cover than the real front cover as page 1. And, good lord, they got the one story flowing from that page 1 as originating on page 1. Well done! Still, can you now see why those subs at the rag get so confused so often, the dear hearts.
