For those out there in BUGland who think that the chatter on social mediocre matters, then perhaps Peter Dutton is in real trouble for jetting off to Sydney last Tuesday for a Liberal fundraiser while voters in his electorate hunkered down or shovelled sandbags in readiness for Cyclone Alfred.

X was ablaze with stinging criticism of that trip to hobnob with some billionaire hospitality industry chap named Justin Hemmes, with a record, apparently, of underpaying staff, and even some in the conservative mainstream mediocre reportedly put in the boot.

We received so many excellent posts, many with memes, on this issue and probably not one alone deserved the overall blue riband as Xcrement of the Week. But our judges decided to highlight two contributions from Politic@l Spinner (at top and below)

As with many memes featured in this column, we have no idea whether Politic@l Spinner created them but great work to whomever!

No meme but – Cass was short and sweet and to the point, and Michael gave us the opportunity to appreciate the genius of the AFR‘s David Rowe.
