Rita cops a two-word roasting!

This final tranche – we promise, okay! – of our Excreta-of-the-Week looks at Australian issues that Xers voided on freely last week.

But before we do, we’re highlighting the wonderful contribution from Kenny Devine (at top and below). Oh, what brevity. Such sarcasm. Yet the truth laid bare for all to see!

New bio! Boom! Boom! Tissscchhhhh!

Now for the political issues du past weekment.

Leader of the Opposition Peter Dutton copped a lot of flak over his property dealings over decades and then bank shares he bought just before a federal government bailout for the beleaguered sector. But maybe not as much faecal flak as the ABC copped for trying desperately to portray either or both of these issues as Labor dirt-file dirty business.

The Heralds’ James Massola in an X post on February 26 made it very plain the extensive research into Dutton’s property empire-building over time was all his own work.

We think (and we’ll probably not check this) that Newscorpse’s Samantha Maiden’s later effort on Dutton’s possibly very dodgy bank share dealings were also not dirt-file assisted in any way.

So let’s hear from Alex McLeod (who we think might have things slightly wrong but the dig at the ABC is sound nevertheless) , anne Okeefe, etc, etc, Liam the Trekky etc, etc, Joe 2: woke and proud of it, and Kate, who was almost as brief as Kenny at the top of this column managed.

The Noisy Elephant had some general observations about the ABC’s approach to its charter of fair and professional reporting.

We’ve observed countless accusations of such behavior for a very long time now which is why The Bug has asked ABC chair Kim Williams if he’s ever looked into that and, if not, why?

Still on Aunty, a fair bit of xcrement was flung over the Antionette Lattouf case over her alleged wrongful dismissal. Peter had this to spray.

The bush lawyers who compile this column think ABC management has really fucked this one up. Sorry for the legal jargon.

And before we leave media matters, here are Michael J. Wyllie and Quentin Dempster.

With a federal election looming – unless it’s postponed for a year if Cyclone Alfred lives up to his threats – let’s just let a number of Xers run off their bottoms over various issues and personalities that may or may not feature at that poll.

Here are Carol Kirkby, Paul Bongiorno having his own say, Greg Jericho and Tom, etc, etc on defence and related matters…

… and we’ll hurtle to a close with Skyowl_, Michael Taylor and Dirty leftie,
