Trump-Putin call details released

The White House has used Valentine’s Day to release further details of the phone call earlier this week between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A transcript of the call published today showed the two leaders spent just five minutes of the 90-minute call discussing substantive issues affecting global affairs including the Russia-Ukraine war, the status and activities of NATO, and the President’s plans for trade tariffs.

Of those five minutes spent discussing major issues, almost three full minutes were absorbed by translations of the conversation for the benefit of the two leaders.

The transcript revealed that the remaining 85 minutes of the call was spent by both leaders giggling and whispering to the other: “No, you hang up.”

The Trump-Putin transcript also showed that war-torn Ukraine was only briefly mentioned during the few short moments President Trump aired his plans to end the war started by Russia’s invasion of its neighbour.

When Trump finishes outlining his proposed steps to deliver peace, Putin asks him: “What role will Ukraine play in your plan?”

Trump then replies: “Who?”

Questions are being asked about the legality of the confirmation of Robert F Kennedy Jr as President Donald Trump’s pick for US Health Secretary.

After a process of lengthy congressional hearings and other scrutiny, the controversial Kennedy was confirmed and had been expected to start work immediately.

However, several leading constitutional lawyers have raised questions about whether the process so far has satisfied all requirements for his formal appointment.

“There is no problem with the confirmation of Kennedy himself,  but several respected constitutional experts have suggested that a separate confirmation is required for the worm that shares Kennedy’s brain,” a Capitol Hill source told The Bug.(below)
