US President Donald Trump was in his usual form this week when he dropped into the global conversation the idea of a real estate deal of epic proportions, namely America taking over war-torn Gaza and turning it into the “Riviera of the Middle East”.
Our Media Glass House researchers noted that he did so while sitting in the Oval Office at the White House next to the smiling, blood-crazed, genocidal maniac, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu was smiling because he has already helped reduce the number of Palestinians living in Gaza – as Trump’s plan requires – by killing almost 50,000 of them so far, mainly innocent men, women, and children with nothing to do with the October 2023 Hamas attacks.
The Israeli PM was also smiling because he knew that if Trump gets away with his Gaza plan, then it would kill off any chance of a two-state solution.
Meanwhile 16,000 kms away, the far right-wing News Crap Australia was also in its usual form – defending, excusing, and promoting Trump just as it has done since the far right-wing Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch decided they could make a quid or two – or a few billion – by running their far right-wing Fox News network as a Trump ad agency and ignoring pesky things like ethics and facts.
Here the usual far right-wing News Crap columnists such as Andrew Bolt, Greg Sheridan, and James Morrow (main picture) were busy turning out columns that, as usual, defended, excused, and promoted Trump and his gaga Gaza idea.
Our MGH teams point out that Sheridan’s effort as foreign editor of News Crap Australia’s national broadshit The Australian suggested Trump’s plan may well be mad but might just work. (below)

Morrow as News Crap Australia’s comedy writer even badged his offering as “analysis” – priceless! – and suggested that Trump’s plan may well be mad but might just work. (below)

Bolt used an item at the bottom of his full-page column to float the idea that Trump’s plan may well be mad but might just work. (below)

So, as our MGH teams advise, it’s good to know that diversity of opinion is alive and well at News Crap Australia and that its well-paid Righters have not succumbed to the dreaded “groupthink” they so often complain afflicts the ABC or any other outlet that doesn’t defend, excuse, and promote Trump.
Bolt also used his latest column to give out some free advice to Opposition Leader Peter Dutton – be more like Trump. As if that’s possible!

Our MGH teams have noted that ever since Trump belched forth his Gaza goal, News Crap Australia’s Righters have gone out of their way to lambast Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for allegedly not rushing to give his opinion on the US President’s bright orange hare-brained scheme.
It was a theme pursued by outlets in the News Crap stable and was totally in line with the Murdoch media’s signature anti-Labor/pro-Liberal campaigning style.
Were they after the PM’s endorsement of the idea? Or did they want him to criticise it so they could then move on to run a new campaign against him for somehow weakening Australian-US ties?
Our MGH teams noticed that one distinguishing characteristic of News Crap Australia’s line suggesting that Albo was wrong to stay relatively silent on the Trump brainfart was its blatant hypocrisy.
Take just one such story in The Australian by political editor Simon Benson. (below)

It took Albo to task and savaged him at length for not uttering a definite “yes” or “no” to the Trump plan.
Yet buried in the middle of the story Benson wrote this…..

Some defence! The PM gets a pasting while Dutton escapes with no criticism for adopting the very same position?
Well, no doubt like you, our MGH researchers reckon News Crap Australia can get away with that sort of blatant campaigning, after all it is the Liberal Party’s advertising agency of choice.
