GAZA PLAN:
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, (main picture) says he has already nominated US President Donald Trump for a Nobel Prize based on his plans for Gaza.
Mr Netanyahu said he agreed with Mr Trump that Gaza was now “unliveable” and Palestinians should move elsewhere.
“The place is, as President Trump says, a demolition site,” Mr Netanyahu said.
“I’m at a loss to understand how Hamas allowed the place to fall so badly into disrepair.
“I mean almost all housing in Gaza is destroyed, it’s got almost no hospitals, just about every one of its schools is falling down or has already fallen down, and every university is no longer operating. It’s a disgrace.
“The fact it has become a demolition site shows just how badly Hamas has managed Gaza and how badly it needs to go and be replaced by either Israel or, as is now on the table, a US administration.
“Certainly in the past 16 months Israel has been doing all it can to reduce the number of Palestinians living in Gaza so the President’s plan is certainly in line with my thinking.”
Mr Netanyahu said after hearing the President’s proposal to expel Palestinians from Gaza and have the US take over the territory, he had immediately started the process of nominating Donald Trump for a Nobel Prize.
“I need to clarify that I’m not nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize,” Mr Netanyahu explained.
“No, I’m putting his name forward for the other lesser known prize the family of Alfred Nobel established soon after the armament manufacturer died for the most creative use of weapons and explosives.
“He and the USA as a whole deserve it. Without them I certainly couldn’t have achieved what I have achieved in Gaza already and will achieve,” Mr Netanyahu said.
