BACK TO SCHOOL:
As the school year resumes in many states this week, one Queensland private school has adopted a new approach to an old problem as part of its student recruitment campaigns.
Headmaster at the prestigious Brisbane private boys’ school Hardon Hall, Jorge Pelgiltee, said he had implemented a new marketing campaign for the 2025 school year to address specific concerns of the parents of current and would-be students.
“We acknowledge that we charge very substantial fees for every boy enrolled with us and parents naturally want to know they will have a problem-free time here as far as we can possibly guarantee,” Mr Pelgiltee said.
“Some years back our lawyers said we should adjust our branding and marketing efforts by qualifying the longstanding school motto which we did by adding a rider to reflect our previous practices. (main picture)
“But our market research showed parents still held concerns, so we went back to the drawing board.
“The result is that from this year we will adopt an entirely school motto which should settle any parental nerves, plus we have launched a new branding campaign complete with a pictogram designed specifically for us.” (below)

“Both should give parents, and students, added confidence as well as protect the school’s substantial assets in the event of any litigation.
“At least that’s what our lawyers tell us,” Mr Pelgiltee said.
