Opposition Leader Peter Dutton (main picture) says it is unfortunate that the public debate over alleged anti-Semitic attacks on various establishments in and around Sydney in recent weeks has descended into a political slanging match.
“Any public debate should be conducted on the facts, and not innuendo or empty name-calling just to harvest votes,” Mr Dutton told reporters this morning.
“Thankfully…. I mean, unfortunately if people hear the same message over and over, they start believing it.
“As an ex-policeman from Queensland I know the importance of gathering evidence to prosecute arguments and wrongdoing.
“That’s why I have written to the Australian Federal Police suggesting they immediately conduct handwriting tests on the anti-Semitic graffiti found at various sites that were attacked in the past few weeks.
“As an ex-copper I know that this is important to do because only then – after thorough forensic testing – can the AFP categorically rule out that it’s Anthony Albanese’s handwriting.
“Until then, it’s only reasonable that he remains under suspicion – and hopefully under AFP and Mossad surveillance,” Mr Dutton said.

The White House has defended the new official portrait of President Donald Trump (below) from charges that it uses public resources to push a party political image.

“Clearly you are from the fake news media,” a White House spokesperson responded to questions from The Bug’s Washington DC bureau.
“The portrait of the 47th President is totally in line with the guidelines for such assets.
“You clearly weren’t paying attention when those guidelines were signed into law by the 47th President as one of the hundreds of directives he issued yesterday immediately following his inauguration.”
The spokesperson added that the new portrait was “good value for money for US taxpayers” since it should last for the duration of President Trump’s second, third, and fourth terms.

“Nothing could be further from the truth,” Mr Creighton said. “And if anyone knows what’s further from the truth it’d be anyone working for The Oz.
“It’s just not true that I’m becoming a far-right propagandist. I already am one.
“I wish people would get the facts Right, like I have always done,” he said.
