Back on the Right track

Peter Dutton says Australia’s coming federal election is the last chance voters have to rescue the nation from the “do-nothing, woke, anti-Semitic, immigrant-loving, gender fluid, pronoun-preferencing Left led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese”.

Following up on his soft campaign launch in Melbourne yesterday the Opposition Leader this morning released a new election policy – his plan to switch the side on which motorists drive on Australian roads. (main picture)

“This is a clear-cut policy that only the Right can deliver,” he said.

“Driving on the right side of the road will help reinforce in the minds of Australians that being on the Right is the right way to go.”

Mr Dutton denied his policy was an attempt to mimic US President-elect Donald Trump’s predilection for confrontational policies to divide voters. Nor was it an effort to ingratiate himself with the coming Trump administration.

“That sort of accusation is simply wrong and anti-Semitic too, I might add as often as I can,” he said. “I am my own person and I am not copying Donald Trump.

“People should not read anything into my new roads policy other than the fact it will make it easier for people to drive their nuclear-powered vehicles and will also bring us in line with major nations around the world such as the United States, as well as America, and the US,” he said.

On day one of his 2025 campaigning Mr Dutton also served hamburgers at a McDonald’s restaurant (below).

He said he would fly to Ipswich later today to campaign in the federal seat of Oxley held by Labor Party Speaker of the House of Representatives, Milton Dick.

“I’m going to Oxley and will head straight to Springfield because in Springfield they’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats, they’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” he said.

When quizzed by reporters about the veracity of the claim, Mr Dutton ignored the questions and began to dance awkwardly to the tune of the Village People’s YMCA blaring from speakers carried by staffers. (below)
