FEDERAL POLITICS:
Anthony Albanese is expected later today to tender his resignation as prime minister, sparking a battle between Jim Chalmers and Tania Plibersek as to who will lead the nation for the next few months before the federal poll that must be held by May.
The Bug understands Albanese’s decision to leave politics followed an excruciating evisceration of him by “arguably one of Australia’s foremost political analysts and commentators”.
“Albo is totally devastated as you can imagine,” a source in the Prime Minister’s office told The Bug. “He had just completed what he thought was a successful week-long pre-election tour of Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia only to find himself like a whale, forensically flensed by arguably one of Australia’s foremost political analysts and commentators”.

The source, who asked not to be named, was referring to two career-ending, almost inhumane, assaults on him by “arguably one of Australia’s foremost political analysts and commentators” Sky LNPNews host Danica De Giorgio. Images of those deadly verbal assaults are shown at top in plugs posted on search engine Microsoft Edge.
“When you think about it, what choice did Albo have?” the source added. “He, perhaps rather naively, thought he had started to turn things around poll wise but now he’s gutted, in more ways than one. He knew he was finished as soon as he saw what De Giorgio had to say as arguably one of Australia’s foremost political analysts and commentators.”
Firstly, De Giorgi told herself on her Sky LNPNews spot that Labor was claiming a “victory of sorts” in the cost-of-living crisis.
But in “reality”, Labor’s “phony economic management and spin” have been “exposed”, she thundered, offering her own brilliant assessment to herself, Sky LNPNews Australia and its viewer.
Like a greyhound in training ripping apart a bound possum, De Giorgi showed absolutely no mercy, using a follow-up segment to explain, on behalf of and to herself, why Prime Minister Albanese was the “worst person” to forge a relationship with US President-elect Donald Trump.
“The Prime Minister said he would not change his approach with China if Mr Trump launched a trade war, lauding the reopening of trade with Beijing as an economic win for Australia,” De Giorgio said.
“I would love to know who Trump would prefer to lead Australia.” And who knows how many other people are asking the same question, hmm?
Given her expert double-barrelled and deadly dissection, a crestfallen Albanese is expected to travel out to Yarralumla after lunch to tender his resignation to the Governor-General.
And The Bug understands De Giorgi and numerous other Sky LNPNews hosts are right now preparing to-camera rants for their individual Sky LNPNews eponymous segments to explain why a Chalmers or Plibersek prime ministership would be just as big a disaster for Australia and the only solution to the nation’s economic and national security woes – and real action to solve the cost-of -living crisis and to lower rampant, out-of-control, inflation and anti-semitism caused solely by Labor – is the election of a Peter Dutton-led LNP government – the only side of politics capable of providing good strong stable economic management, that’s for sure; that’s the way – as soon as possible.
