Apropos of nothing, really, The Bug thought it would kick off this second look at our Xcrements-of-the-Week at something that is charting on X at the moment: discussion over who has been this nation’s worst PM ever.
And why not, seeing it now appears the bulk of this nation’s mainstream mediocre – as unbalaned and as unfair as it is – plans to spend the remaining months before the federal poll painting the current holder of the office, Anthony Albanese, as a worthy contender.
Unashamedly slightly left-wing, The Bug would humbly suggest that Albanese hasn’t even turned into the straight as the real contenders for that title are saluting the judges in a photo finish.
Here’s one suggestion, from Mark A. Thomson (top and below).

He wouldn’t be The Bug‘s top pick. True, The Mad Monk was a fucking joke as PM but he was sort of harmless in some ways, unless you were an unpeeled onion. With Peta Credlin’s help, he lasted a few years in the top job, gave Prince Philip an Australian knighthood and is now the laughing-stock loser of Australian politics. Well done, Tony and Peta!
There are PMs who have done far more damage to the fabric of Australian society and it’s not our job here to name names.

Right! Let’s move onto contemporary Oz politics and quite a bit of xcrement plopped into our prize barrel concerning one particular chap, Paul Fletcher.
Fletcher, sitting on a very slim margin in his HofR seat, got stuck into independents who he reckons are ruining politics in this country. Take it away, Kate Chaney, BeeLCP, etc, etc, and Terry Sweetman.

It’s great to see Terry Sweetman, that much admired former newspaper columnist, still has that knack of summing things up in just a few short, sharp words.
Speaking of current leading lights on the federal opposition benches, Glenn Gibson took aim at Dan Tehan and James Patterson.

We’ll allow Glenn a double dip with his assessment of possibly the last session of the current federal Parliament and his dig at how the mainstream mediocre, including Insiders, depicted that final week.

Peter Dutton now and no Xcrements-of-the-Week post is ever complete without what Xers have to say about him.
Hardy World went nuclear, while A Francis Innes channelled Keating for a character reference and Michael J Wyllie reminded us of a certain Biloela family’s plight over a very long time.

Off shore now, for our final offerings. Here’s Paul on a neighbour trying to help Donald Trump understand how tariffs work…

…. and sarah on the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza that Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong can’t see, being so far away and all and basically being only slightly less Zionist than Peter Dutton’s mob.
