DIDDAMS!
But apart from that, how should our respected news organisations have handled the recent Amsterdam riots if they had known the extent of extremely poor behaviour on both sides?
That the violence meted out by local Arabs to visiting Israeli football fans followed violent behaviour – both physical and verbal – by those fans first, through their attack on an Arab taxi driver, the ripping down of Palestinian flags from the fronts of local homes, the sickening chanting of racist and anti-Palestinian slogans and songs including “Fuck Arabs”, calls for victory for the Israeli Defence Forces in Gaza and elsewhere and the disgusting observation that it’s no problem that schools no longer exist in Gaza because all the school kids have been killed.
How indeed. And the Media Glass House regrettably has the answer in last Saturday night’s ABC news out of Brisbane and The Sun-Herald’s report the following day (above).
Both reports strongly favoured the Israeli fans as the victims of those clashes in the Dutch capital, with the Nine newspaper using the words “anti-semitism” repeatedly, albeit in quotes from Dutch officials.
Here’s how the ABC’s 7pm bulletin began: “Tonight, Israeli soccer fans recount violent attacks in Amsterdam as the Dutch city boosts police powers and bans protests.” And a bit later on: “Israel’s Foreign Minister has met with Dutch politicians following attacks on the country’s soccer fans in Amsterdam”.

Rather than fans fleeing, the MGH suspects the image above from the ABC report shows those Israeli fans on or from their way to the stadium, already in full-throated obscenity and Zionist arrogance and supremacy.
So, when Mazoe Ford began her report from Amsterdam, was there a more balanced recounting of events there or did she also lead with the Israeli-fans-as-victims line?
“Young men clad in black roamed the streets on foot and on scooters targeting the Israeli supporters.” Five end up in hospital after “groups of young men scoured the Dutch capital hunting down Israeli soccer fans. Many are kicked and beaten before their attackers flee.”
The poor darlings then had to have police protection as they fled to the airport and safety back in Tel Aviv.
We’re now well into Ford’s account – all favouring the Israeli fans – so did she not know of their own disgusting behaviour? Well, she did. And finally got around to telling us.
“This video appeared one day earlier and police say the Israeli football fans set fire to a flag and attacked a taxi.

“On their way to the game, they marched on the streets, setting off flares, chanting “Let the IDF win’ and directing swear words at Arabs.”
Ford finished her report by saying that local police had acted “all with the hope of preventing more scenes like this.”
The report concluded with these scenes and the MGH couldn’t agree more! Hint: they are not locals; just visitors who you’d think would want to behave themselves and make their country proud. Hint two: wanting Arabs fucked and kids in Gaza killed is not the way to go about that.

Ms Ford might argue that how she led her report was based on comments by the city’s mayor and the country’s prime minister who both singled out the locals’ reactions for strong criticism. But the MGH would simply argue that Australian journalists don’t have to go along with Dutch politicians saying things for political reasons.
Condemn violence by all means but don’t go out of the way to paint those Israeli fans as innocent victims. Violence begat violence. Indeed, one of our less savoury MGH compilers said: “The locals should have strung up some of those vile, genocide-loving, cunts.” Yes, he is appalling, but his colleagues suspect there are countless Australians who might agree those visiting fans got exactly what they deserved – a thorough belting.
The ABC report and The Sun-Herald story that followed the next morning perhaps showed us just what a Zionist country Australia is, especially when both yarns were from supposedly more decent and balanced news outfits than News Corp platforms and Nine radio shockjocks.
And that’s pretty sad, the washed-up, bitter old hacks who compile this column reckon.
