WASHINGTON DC: Donald Trump has signalled his eagerness to begin his second term by invading the White House and busting his way into the Oval Office.

Mr Trump arrived unannounced at the West Wing of the White House today carrying a large lumberjack’s axe.

Brushing aside White House as well as his own security guards and Secret Service agents, the President-elect trod a familiar path to the door of the Oval Office and began smashing it in with the axe. (below)

A spokesperson for incumbent President Joe Biden confirmed he was in the office at the time but was not harmed.

“President Biden was briefed after the event – which we are describing as ‘a courtesy call’ – because he was soundly sleeping at the Resolute desk when the President-elect arrived,” the spokesperson said.

“We thank President-elect Trump for the courtesy he showed by not waking the President.”

The spokesperson confirmed that Mr Trump had asked if he could move in and begin his second term ahead of the 20 January 2025 inauguration ceremony.

The spokesperson added that Mr Trump had been advised that the inauguration date was mandated as the start of his second term by the US Constitution.

“The President-elect then departed, somewhat angry, and said he would have ‘Elon look at’ that constitutional provision as part of his work cutting government red tape,” the spokesperson said.
