Victims’ voice falls silent

CRIME ON THE DECLINE!

The community action group, Voice for Victims, has been disbanded.

“Our work here is done,” a spokesperson told The Bug. He was referring to freshly leaked news that official Queensland police data has now shown that crime in general – but youth crime in particular – has started to fall since the election of the Crisafulli LNP government last Saturday.

“Mission completed,” he said.

And that stated mission over recent years was simple: to advocate on behalf of victims and survivors of crime to ensure that in the pursuit of criminal justice reform, the survivors were not forgotten and to push the LNP line that the Miles Labor government had done absolutely nothing to combat crime in general – but youth crime in particular – that continued to spiral out of control each and every day.

The newly elected LNP Member for Capalaba, Russell Field, paid tribute to the work done by Voice for Victims.

“It has achieved everything Russell would have hoped for it,” a spokesperson said.

The group’s patron, Nine National News, lamented the group’s decision to disband but a station source told us: “We were just grateful to be able to spread the Voice for Victims message that the Miles Labor government had done absolutely nothing to combat crime in general – but youth crime in particular – that continued to spiral out of control over recent years.

“We were more than happy to give lengthy previews, full coverage on march days and then lengthy reviews of those marches on Parliament House. That sort of saturation coverage was the least we could have done and we’ll miss that, ” the Nine News spokesperson said.

The Nine Network, its radio shock jocks, other TV networks and The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mails are now expected to give full coverage of the ongoing decline in crime generally – but youth crime in particular – that is becoming clearly evident since the election of the Crisafulli LNP government last Saturday.
