Who says crime doesn’t pay?

Seeing the general consensus among the political commentariat is that the LNP’s out-of-control crime message – wrapped around its Adult Crime; Adult Time slogan – was the major factor in its big win on Saturday night, let’s kick off with some responses to that.

Our judges couldn’t go past this simple message (at top and below) from Debbie Kilroy #FreeHer.

David Marler, Wazza from Melbourne and Toilet Paper Australia felt much the same way…

Completely fair as The Bug always is, we’re not exactly sure if Frank Crimes, whoever he is, said that but Toilet Paper Australia’s message is clear.

BUG aside: if this look at the Xcrements of the Week is coming across as a little left-leaning, we don’t care. We think the LNP’s central strategy, unfolded over many months, was brilliantly executed but claims that the Miles Government was doing fuck all to reduce crime, especially youth crime, was all pure unadulterated bullshit, aided and abetted by the mainstream mediocre. We’ll now look on with interest to see where the LNP government is going to find the money to address crime and another key problems they’ve identified, especially if they axe the billions gleaned from coal royalties.

Back to the topic, and here’s Patricia Karvelas getting the vibe on crime, courtesy of a Xcremental post by Glenn Gibson!

On the aforementioned free state school lunches that the Miles government promised, those mad fucking witches and Peter Murphy had the ABC’s Insiders host in their rear sights.

And seeing we’re now on media, did the Queensland-based mainstream mediocre play a part in stoking this view in voters’ minds that crime in the Sunshine state was rampantly out of control and getting worse by the day?

Tony Koch, M James and Lee-Anne Walker were in do doubt as they had their spray on that.

Another BUG aside: While we agree wholeheartedly with those three Xcretas, we should never forget the role played by other big media players, including Nine Entertainment Co and the Seven network. How many 6pm news bulletins from Nine News Queensland went out over the past year without some prominent footage of youth crime? That, and the station’s virtual patronage of the Voice for Victims group and the station’s total support of its endless claim that the Miles government was doing fuck all about youth crime and crime in general. Pure, unadulterated LNP bullshit propaganda.

Sorry about that. Now, onto the election-night coverage. Let’s hear from David Marler again on the ABC’s interview that night with Amanda Stoker.

NikiSavvasJumper, etc, etc, also posted on that Stoker interview while stranger pointed out some pretty evasive answers from Keith Pitt on the nuclear question.

And let’s finish off with a second xcretal plop from stranger, highlighting a Bill Shorten-worthy zinger from the outgoing Queensland Treasurer Cameron Dick.

TO BE CONTINUED: Tomorrow, we focus on the looming US presidential election.
