EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM:

One of the Murdoch media’s high-profile Righters has received a special international in-house award for his work at The Australian during this year’s US presidential election campaign.

The Bug understands that the national broadshit’s US correspondent Adam Creighton (below) has received the rarely presented trophy known as the Golden Colon. (main picture)

The accolade is much desired by Righters throughout News Crap International and its subsidiaries since its recipients – officially attributed within the organisation with the post-nominal “HE” for “human enema” once they receive the award – are chosen personally by Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch for their work advancing the political prospects of far-right politicians while also advancing the political and commercial interests of the Murdoch family.

According to a citation seen by The Bug, Adam Creighton was handed the Golden Colon for his ongoing body of work “blatantly promoting and talking up Donald Trump and belittling and talking down krazy, mentally deficient, laffin’ Kamala Harris under the guise of independent analysis and commentary”.

The Bug understands several of the international media group’s columnists and commentators at both News Crap Australia and Sky News Australia are disappointed at not being chosen to receive the award, with some even being described as angry.

“I’ve pumped Trump just as much, if not more than Creighton,” The Australian’s Greg Sheridan was heard to remark when news of the award broke. “And I’ve been able to do it with a beard and old fogey specs while wearing a cardigan so that my tissue-thin arguments appear learned and considered when they’re just far-right crap tailored to what’s good for Rupert and Lachlan.”

The Bug has been told that the last Righter for a News Crap Australia outlet to receive a rare Golden Colon was Piers Akerman in 2019 for his work posing as an independent analyst with The Daily Telegraph while at the same time helping letterbox Liberal Party pamphlets with ex-PM Tony Abbott in his old seat of Warringah during that year’s election campaign while sporting a Liberal Party tee shirt.
