Image change claims dismissed

Staff of federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton have dismissed questions about an apparent change in his image and personal presentation style as the 2025 election draws closer.

Mr Dutton yesterday was the keynote speaker at a Liberal Party regional conference in NSW where some attendees said they detected subtle changes in his appearance and speaking style. (main picture)

“It’s hard for me to put my finger on exactly what it was about Mr Dutton that seemed different,” said one delegate who requested anonymity.

“But I have seen him speak in person a couple of times in the past and I did feel that he had made some changes in how he presents himself.

“For instance, in previous appearances Mr Dutton hasn’t performed a sort of dance in which he clenches his fists and moves them awkwardly back and forth.

“He also hasn’t previously walked on stage while throwing Make Australia Great Again caps to the crowd.

“Plus I think he’s letting his hair grow out, which is not a bad thing.

“Overall it was a good speech he gave and, as always, I learned things I didn’t know.

“For instance, I don’t know why, as Mr Dutton said, why the fake news media has not been reporting the fact that illegal immigrants infesting our nation and poisoning its blood have been eating dogs and cats of people in the towns they are invading.

“As Mr Dutton said, it’s obviously something lyin’, laffin’, mentally deficient Anthony Albanese doesn’t want to talk about.”

But when asked by reporters about the alleged change in image, opposition staffers insisted any such allegations were groundless.

“There’s been no change in Mr Dutton’s appearance or presentation. None. Period,” a spokesperson said.
