LNP answers Labor taunts

ELECTION POLICY COSTINGS:

Queensland Opposition Leader, David Crisafulli, has answered questions raised by the state’s Labor Government about the funding of his Liberal National Party’s promises for the 26 October election.

Premier Steven Miles and key ministers have been attacking Mr Crisafulli for not providing revenue sources for the initiatives he would implement if he won office. (main picture)

But yesterday Mr Crisafulli revealed he had a reliable revenue source that would fund all the promises the LNP had made without the need for new taxes, or cuts to government jobs and services as claimed by Labor.

“I am not yet going to reveal detailed costings of the commitments we have made because I’ll be making more as the campaign unfolds,” he said.

“But I can say we have a revenue source that will see Steven Miles and others in the Labor Party with egg all over their faces.

“I can’t say too much just yet but my office was very lucky to receive unsolicited information that has allowed us to tap a previously unknown source of revenue that we estimate will cover all of our new policies.

“Full details of the new revenue will be provided in the costings we will be releasing closer to election day.

“But I can say that we are keeping in contact with the Nigerian prince who emailed us, whom I won’t name right now, and we continue to respond to all his requests for information.

“I’m ready at any time to accept an apology from the Premier and his ministers for ever doubting me or the LNP’s competence,” Mr Crisafulli said.
