Could AUKUS really do that?

Not our Xcrement-of-the-Week winner as revealed yesterday but our judges have once again shown they’re very partial to a bit of naughtiness by suggesting this second look at the best offerings of the past week or so should kick off with the contribution from Bot of the Apocalypse (at top and below).

And how do we know Bot, etc, is on the money with this meme? AUKUS was agreed to originally by Scott Morrison, which of course means that there’s a 99.99 per cent chance it’s no good.

But for a more reasoned explanation why going broke – and losing our sovereignty in the process – for a handful of nuclear subs that can really get up the arse of our major trading partner China is probably not a good idea, here’s Peter Cronau explaining what Bob Carr thinks of the idea.

The nation’s housing woes now, and Doug Cameron had this to spray.

Margie Jones, in conversation with Doug Cameron, had a swipe at Samantha Maiden’s appearance on the ABC’s Insiders program…..

…. while Sassy Leo and Michael J Wyllie also chimed in on a problem The Bug firmly believes has been wilfully neglected by both major political parties at state and federal level.

Onto the issue that keeps bubbling on and on and might cause Labor some pain at the next federal election – the fact that no-one behind the unlawful and deadly Robodebt scheme appears likely to pay a price for that monstrous fuckup widely regarded as the worse case of departmental malfeasance in Australian political history.

Here are Anthony Klan and Everald Compton.

Keep on the good fight, Everald, you feisty old bugger, you! You are indeed a national treasure.

And now for an issue that might cause the Opposition pain at the next federal poll: Peter Dutton’s nuclear power stations brainfade, with Dutton, just yesterday, once again kicking the cost of the scheme into the long grass and declaring it will be released at a time of the Opposition’s choosing.

Before that latest delay in letting Oz taxpayers know what they’ll be forking out for Dutton’s nuclear fantasy, bradpsychology and David Marley posted these views.

Although we spent a lot of time yesterday on Donald Trump chickening out on a second debate with Kamala Harris, a few more barbs at the orange buffoon won’t go astray. Take it away, Cheryle and Politic@l Spinner.

And let’s finish on a positive note with a second bite of the cherry from Michael J Wyllie.

Yes, Michael, the ABC still has some good guys working for it! Bourchier’s such a nice guy that he’d probably admit it’s a shame he stands out at the moment.
