Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers is reportedly resting comfortably after being rushed to hospital (main picture) following an attack of explosive diarrhoea.
An ambulance was called to the Federal Treasury building this morning (below) and took Mr Chalmers to Canberra Hospital where he was reportedly hosed down before being admitted for treatment.

A spokesperson for the Treasurer said Mr Chalmers was on a telephone conference call with other Albanese Government senior ministers and strategists at the time of the attack.
“They were discussing how to respond to the ultimatum issued by the Greens that the minor party’s Senators would not pass the government’s Bill to reform the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) unless the government used powers under the existing RBA Act to direct the central bank to lower interest rates,” the spokesperson said.
“There was a discussion about the threat posed by the Greens to the government’s reform agenda before someone suggested it may be necessary to bow to their demands and – for the first time – direct the RBA to cut interest rates and deliver urgent relief to home buyers.
“As discussion progressed, others on the call began to agree and said a direction to the RBA would show that the government not the Reserve Bank was running the economy.
“Others began to fall in line and said that the Treasurer himself had said high interest rates had been smashing the economy, and that former treasurer Wayne Swan had also been highly critical of high rates.
“The consensus was that the government should agree to the Greens’ proposal. It was then that everyone on the call heard a loud, thunderous, yet liquid-sounding explosion which was the Treasurer voiding his bowels at the thought of actually taking responsibility for interest rates.
“It was then that his staff called an ambulance and paramedics arrived, donned hazmat suits and took the Treasurer to hospital,” the spokesperson said.
