While most US political observers believed the former First Lady’s comments were aimed at publicising her forthcoming memoirs, Mr Trump himself has revealed the real reason.

“I recently posed for a series of nude photos on board my jet, like Melania did all those years ago,” Mr Trump explained.

“Just like everything I do, the photos are in good taste and befitting the dignity I always bring to this presidential campaign.

“I just know they will help my campaign because people can compare my body – the best body in the history of the world – with the mangy curry-smelling carcass of krazy Kamala Harris.”

Mr Trump said he had received many requests over many years to pose naked.

“My staff tell me that just recently there’s been a big increase in the number of people writing in to say they’d like to shoot me so I thought I’d bow to that pressure,” he said.
