Nine Network TV personality and former CEO, Eddie McGuire, (main picture) is being widely touted as a replacement for the controversial Mike Sneesby who this week announced his decision to depart its parent company Nine Entertainment.
A senior network insider said while McGuire had an unsuccessful tenure as CEO for only 18 months from January 2006 he was the Nine Entertainment Group’s only real hope of resurrecting its standing and profitability.
“Eddie is really the only person who has ever had a plan to turn around the fortune of Nine, especially its TV arm,” the source said.
When asked for details of the McGuire plan, the insider said: “Well, when I say plan, it’s pretty much what we always do when the network’s in a tight spot and we’re casting around for visionary and cutting-edge ideas to underpin our future – bring back The Price is Right.”

After previously indicating he would be open to further debates, he declared yesterday that there would be no more as far as he was concerned.
However, this morning, he changed his mind again and said: “I will take part in another debate provided my one and only condition is met.
“All the Democrats need to do is to meet my single demand and I’ll be there.
“I can’t wait to once again wins hands down against crooked Joe Biden,” he said.
