While our judges clearly don’t want to deter others from entering – especially with more than half the month still to go – they collectively suspect The Australian‘s online, real-time, coverage of the presidential debate (above and below) will take a helluva lot of bringing down to earth by any chasing pack.

As one of our judges sarcastically pointed out: “A high school debater or adjudicator would have given that debate to Kamala Harris by a country mile on every conceivable scoring point; presentation, content, rebuttal … the whole goddammed works!”

“For The Australian to declare there was no obvious winner by two-thirds of the way through the debate defies belief considering what everyone saw took place. Did whoever came up with the “no obvious winner” line at least have the decency to blush when they did so?

“For mine, it’s London to a brick that we now have our winner but, sure, we haven’t seen what the whole team of brownnosing ‘journalists’ at The Oz, other Newscorpse ‘newspapers’ and Sky LNPNews hosts are going to come up with.

“Both Rupert and Lachlan Murdock’s arseholes are probably puckering right now with eager anticipation at the absolute cloacal cleansing these dozens of Newscorpse ringmasters will be coming up with in the hours and days ahead as they find any possibly way to paint Trump’s dismal debate performance in the best possible light.”
