Apple launch sparks customer queues

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:

Fresh from the launch of the iPhone 16 earlier this week, Apple CEO Tim Cook has hosted another major product release at the global IT company’s California headquarters. (main picture)

Mr Cook strode onto the stage of the Batterylow Auditorium to wild applause and a standing ovation from Apple staff and hundreds of fans of the company’s products.

“Today I can tell you about a radical new product that Apple is launching this week,” he said.

After waiting for the audience’s thunderous cheering to die down, he continued: “We call this new product the iZilch.

“It’s a product with a name that perfectly embodies Apple’s marketing and design philosophy.”

Walking back and forth across the stage, Mr Cook said the iZilch “pushed new barriers” in the IT sector.

“Unlike other product launches I’ve hosted here in this auditorium, I cannot show you a picture or model of the iZilch.

“That’s because it simply doesn’t exist, at least in physical form.”

While tapping his head, apparently indicating his brain or imagination, Mr Cook said: “But for Apple fans it does exist here.”

Then, taking his own wallet from his jeans pocket and waving it at the crowd he added: “And it definitely exists here.”

Struggling to make himself heard over ceaseless applause, Mr Cook explained that Apple fans could buy the iZilch at any Apple Store by handing over US$3,000.

“In return you’ll receive nothing. Absolutely nothing,” he said before thanking the crowd and walking of stage.

Within minutes of Mr Cook’s presentation, lengthy queues had been formed outside Apple stores around the world (below) by hardcore Apple fans eager to buy the iZilch.
