Oh, what an eclectic mix we have for our second tranche of The Bug‘s Xcrements-of-the-Week!
And for this edition, we thought we’d highlight the effort (at top and below) from retired Brisbane scribe and former highly respected newspaper columnist Terry Sweetman.

We couldn’t agree more with his sentiments. At this point in time, no-one appears set to pay a price for Robodebt, the illegal and deadly pursuit of countless Australian citizens for debts they didn’t owe. Robodebt is regarded as the greatest example of government malfeasance against – and deliberate and reckless indifference to – the most vulnerable in this nation’s history and the National Anti-Corruption Commission promptly wiped its hands – and with it any brand status – of any bid to make ministers and senior public servants pay for that dreadful scheme.
With the new Northern Territory government determined to cut back the age of criminality to 10 and the LNP in Queensland pledging “adult time for adult crime” ahead of the state election there, it seems clear that the little people – the bottom rungs of our society – remain the focus of government wrath and punishment for any wrongdoing in Australia, while the very tops of our political and public servant structures have gotten away with what was pretty much close to murder.
Overseas now, and Mohamad Safa calls out what’s happening in Gaza for exactly what it is….

… while to the Gaza strip’s north-east, here are Pelham, stranger, Quds News Network and Howard Beckett venting on what is going on in the occupied West Bank as Israel continues to ignore international law to show exactly what it thinks of a two-state solution.

Back to Gaza briefly, where Amy Remeikis shows her obvious disappointment that the Australian pubic appears to have been swayed by Peter Dutton’s dogwhistling over Gaza refugees, at least in one poll.

The US presidential election now, and Peter FitzSimons, responding to Mark, doesn’t mince words about what a Trump win would mean, while Peter Murphy clearly has had a gutful of Trump’s idiotic ramblings.

As you BUGgers out there know, we love personal attacks – they’re so X, right? – so here’s JayJay on Dutton, Eagle Sam on nuclear touter Ted O’Brien and Mike Carlton on Rita Panahi!

Miss Polly launches a fresh attack on the folly that is AUKUS…

… while finally, we’ll let TOM RED say goodbye to cartoonist/illustrator Michael Leunig who has been let go by The Age after 55 years of work there that garnered him countless fans and quite a few detractors.
