Have Libs abandoned Teal seats?

For our second look at our Xcrements-of-the-Week, let’s highlight a meme from the very creative and frequently caustic TOM RED (above and below).

TOM RED raises a very interesting point about Liberal tactics. That party seems totally committed to doing nothing at all to reclaim the Teal and independent seats needed to return to the government benches.

It’s why, even as the ALP primary vote seems to continue dipping, the experts all still talk about a minority Labor government for one simple reason: how on earth are the Libs going to regain once blue-ribbon seats they need to even be considered as a minority government prospect?Especially seeing the people holding those electorates appear totally underwhelmed by Peter Dutton’s distaste of renewables and who plans to continue burning fossil fuels until his far-too-expensive nuclear powerplants come on line in decades to come?

More domestic politics now and Phillip Riley had some fun with party problems facing Jacqui Lambie in the Apple Isle.

What goes around come around indeed, Phillip.

More on possible domestic party turmoil from Crikey, this time about the NSW Liberals.

Overseas now and Coalition Tea Lady shows no sign of letting up on her ferocious campaign to try to shock the Albanese government into being less Zionist over the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza. Good luck with that, CTL!

David Marler and Jenny Frecklington-Jones, etc, etc, had their own takes on the ongoing humanitarian disaster that is Gaza as Israel continues to show it is totally and relentlessly opposed to a two-state solution that for some unfathomable reason Albanese and Wong still think is a goer.

Now to the US election and we liked this little offering from Rick…

… and on that election, Peter FitzSimons marvels at how readily free-speech warrior Elon Musk is banning from his X platform posts that are critical of Donald Trump. Musk clearly does not do hypocrisy as he awaits that senior Cabinet post Trump has promised him in a second Trump administration. And the massive company tax cuts, of course.

And let’s finish off with Sahar Adatia’s forceful rebuttal of Peter van Onselen’s claims of left-wing bias against dear-old Aunty.

My, oh my …. hasn’t Peter Van Onselen fitted ever so comfortably into his role at the right-wing Daily Mail? It’s like his entire career and his body of work were aimed at such a coveted posting.
