Rinehart cops some faecal flak

Defence expert, mining magnate, pastoralist, humanitarian and all-round swell gal Gina Rinehart copped some serious online shit over recent days and it well and truly caught the attention of our Xcrement-of-the-Week judges.

It all centred around Rinehart’s address to a News Corp bush summit in Townsville last Friday where she presented her case for the defence of, and economic blueprint, for the Australia she loves… to dig up.

Her message to the federal government: “Drill, baby, drill and dig, baby, dig” and use the proceeds to massively upgrade defence, including with an Israeli-style “iron dome” missile deflection system across Australia’s north.

Rinehart is a sponsor of these bush summits, which probably explains why she was allowed to present her views, which also included the reintroduction of compulsory national service for “all biological men … under, say, 53” with voluntary service for “biological women”.

Our judges poured over many fine Xcremental efforts on this subject but finally draped the blue riband around the neck of signtst (above and below).

Ginastan indeed. And her planned iron dome defence system on islands to our nation’s north seems perfectly placed to defend her mining and pastoral interests in the northern half of this great brown land of hers. Let’s just hope she can find all the workers she needs on her various primary industry projects, what with all those biological men under 53 doing nasho.

Coming a close second to signtst were Tim Dunlop and Chris Free Palestine (below) who had some fun with the possibility that Rinehart isn’t quite the defence expert she thinks she is and has misheard things and thinks it’s an iron-ore dome she has in mind. Priceless.

Peter s. grumpyoldfool62 also weighed in with some advice for the caring, sharing, employee-loving Rinehart.

And Cathy Thomson in no uncertain terms told Rinehart where to go!

This segment rarely goes past without some fun at the expense of the ABC Insiders program and Bill Shorten’s appearance as Sunday’s guest provoked some Xcremental plopping.

We particularly liked Robyn’s mention of what even we at The Bug thought was a very reasonable Shorten zinger at host David “you can take the boy out of Skynews but you can never really take Skynews out of the boy” Speers who spent the interview as usual looking for a gotcha! moment.

Glenn Gibson had some general praise for Shorten’s efforts in cleaning up the NDIS to ensure it can survive while Kiera had concerns for Speers’s backside after the interview was concluded.

The Linda Reynolds defamation case against Brittany Higgins continues to draw flak from our Xcretas.

Here are John H aka Corvus coronoides, Father Ted and Belinduh Pyne having their sprays…

… while Sleeping Giants Oz kindly asked Janet Albrechtsen to give her obsession with Brittany Higgins a much-needed break.

To conclude this first look at The Bug’s Xcrements-of-the-Week, here’s Dazza with an interesting thought…

Sadly, Dazza, probably not.
