Starting to feel more than just a little bit sorry for senior Labor Party federal parliamentarians – and others – who over the past 48 hours have voiced the view – hope? – that Peter Dutton has overstepped the mark with his call for a blanket ban on refugees from Gaza.
They appear to have become quite over-excited by the possibility that Dutton has – once again – been exposed as a racist and will pay a political price for that racism.
But seeing Australia is such a racist country – as clearly shown by the results of the Voice to Parliament referendum – why should Dutton pay a price for being the out-and-out dreadful racist that he clearly is?
The negative campaign over the Voice was the most racist, divisive one – largely based on dreadful lies – ever mounted in this country and Dutton approved of it all, staying largely schtum and letting others do the racist dirty work while occasionally coming out to squark “we don’t have any details (a lie) so if you don’t know, vote no!” along with Michaelia Cash.
And what a racist and divisive campaign it was. The darkies are getting something us whities aren’t being offered! Albanese’s off looking after the darkies’ interests and couldn’t care less about us whities in the outer suburbs with our cost-of-living woes! The Uluru statement from the heart is not just one page; it’s over 20 filled with vile anti-white threats! Our capital cities will have their names changed to darkie ones! Us whities will have to pay to swim on our favourite beaches!
And a dumbed down racist Australia listened to this vile bullshit and was hooked line and stinker. And Dutton, with the help of a compliant and gutless mainstream media, continues to milk that Voice defeat for all his worth, saying it was all Anthony Albanese’s fault and the PM was the one who made the Voice referendum racist and divisive.
We’ve all got to remember that racism and divisiveness is in Dutton’s DNA and he believes it’s a winner and I’m not at all sure he’s in any serious way wrong.
Personally, I hope all those people mentioned at the top of this rant are right and Dutton will pay a price for his latest dog-whistling effort in a proven, decades-long, list of dog-whistling efforts. But sadly, I can’t see it. Carry on the way he is and I fear The Lodge could well and truly be in his grasp, albeit in minority government come next year’s federal poll seeing he’s got Buckley’s chance of regaining various Teal and independent seats the way he’s carrying on over climate change and nuclear power stations.
Maybe the next round of opinion polls will give us a glimpse on who’s right on this issue? But don’t be surprised if Dutton continues to outpoll Albanese as preferred PM in some polls, the two-party figure remains largely dead-heated or even worse for the ALP and Labor’s primary vote continues to slip, all because Albanese is only slightly less Zionist than the Opposition Leader. But that’s a rant for another day.
