Bookie bets on compliance

ONLINE GAMBLING:

A new entrant in the already crowded online gambling sector says it believes it has nothing to fear from the Albanese Government’s planned new laws covering the industry’s advertising activities.

CEO of Ladsbroke, Quinn Ella, (main picture) defended the online wagering sector while challenging anyone to point to any instance where any industry operator breached any laws any government had ever put in place to regulate the sector.

“Too many people are too willing to rush to judgement to attack online gambling agencies like Ladsbroke,” Mr Ella said.

“I’ve been confidentially briefed on the planned new laws and I’ll make a very simple bet with anyone that my company and other online agencies will totally comply with them.

“I’m willing to frame an all-in boxed quaddie with a bet-with-mates, double-or-nothing corner wager with expanding wilds for anyone to put their money where their mouth is when it comes to the integrity of my company and our industry.

“If anyone thinks I’ve got an advantage because I know what’s going to be in the new laws, I’ll offer a head-to-head match play round-robin exacta with a same-game wild-card multi running double that it’s a fair bet,” he said.

Mr Ella said as a new online agency he wanted to stress that his company’s trading name was Ladsbroke and should not be confused with the existing global operator Ladbrokes.

“Ladbrokes started in the UK in the 1880s as bookmakers wagering on horses trained at the country house Ladbroke Hall in Warwickshire,” he explained.

“By contrast I settled on our company name Ladsbroke after seeing the financial state of the many young men who placed wagers with online agencies such as ours.”
