2024 Ekka offers “huge savings”

THE 2024 EKKA:

Organisers of Brisbane’s annual Royal Queensland Show – affectionately known as the Ekka (main picture) – say families heading to this year’s event starting today can make “huge savings” even before they arrive at the entry gates.

Royal National Association spokesperson, Sam Pellbag, said anyone travelling by public transport to the Bowen Hills showgrounds could take advantage of the Queensland Government’s 50-cent public transport fares.

“That means huge savings even before they arrive at the Ekka gates and sit down with one of our financial consultants to discuss a loan or second mortgage to buy entry tickets,” Mr Pellbag said.

“The Ekka remains the best value attraction in Brisbane year after year – a fact that can be proved if families divide their entry fees by 365 days.

“Being a leap year, the 2024 Ekka means even greater value once amortised over 366 days,” he said.

Mr Pellbag said it was not too late for families to buy a DIY “at home” Ekka experience if they could not make it to the Bowen Hills showgrounds.

“Our DIY kit (below) for 2024 will again give the authentic Ekka experience by allowing families to sit at home and get a warm inner-glow when they throw large-denomination notes on the kit’s built-in burner,” he said.

“Once again this year, of course for an extra fee, RNA delivery drivers will supply genuine fresh and extra-squishy cow pats that can be laid down in the family home, a range of show bags to lay-by, as well as genuine Ekka favourites like microwavable lumps of a tubular meat-like substance encased in batter on a skewer and microwavable strawberry ice-cream sundae cones.

“Of course it wouldn’t be an at-home Ekka experience if our delivery drivers also didn’t offer to grab kids by their ankles and spin them around until they vomit to give them that real sideshow alley experience – for just a few extra dollars, of course,” he said.
