FEDERAL POLITICS:
The two retiring ministers in the Albanese Labor government have issued a joint statement expressing their deep sorrow at not leaving the Cabinet “a long, long time ago”.
“We are both truly and deeply regretful,” wrote the outgoing Minister for Skills and Training of Australia, Brendan O’Connor, and also-departing Linda Burney, Minister for Indigenous Australians.
“We will now give serious consideration to whether we should also do the right thing by the Australian people and leave parliament immediately now that we have both been found so, so, wanting,” they declared.
The two retiring ministers were of course, reacting to stinging and bitter criticism of them from arguably one of this nation’s most respected politics analysts and observers.

In one of those short sharp posts Sky LNPNews loves to place on the Microsoft Start search engine to highlight the TV segments from their many hosts, Sky LNPNews host Chris Kenny stingingly stated: “Labor is not going to miss these two, they were not great performers.”
“I’ve had a bit to do with both of them over the years, they are good people, well-intentioned, but neither can really point to achievements as ministers.”
