MEDIA NEWS:
News Crap Australia has narrowly avoided having to sack all of the commentators and columnists employed by its national broadshit The Australian, those working for its string of metro daily turdbloids, and all “after dark” commentators on its Sky News channel.
The Bug has confirmed that the mass dismissals were floated at an urgent meeting of senior editorial staff following the publication of two opinion pieces by one of the most senior Righters at The Australian, Gerard Henderson. (main picture)
A News Crap Australia insider told The Bug that the emergency meeting was told that mass sackings could be inevitable after Henderson wrote two scathing columns about the alleged political bias he claimed was demonstrated by the ABC as the publicly funded national broadcaster.
“Gerard’s regular Media Watch Dog column published last Saturday (below) included an item which lambasted the ABC for what Henderson claimed were its blatantly biased political coverage,” the insider said.
“In particular he was concerned that the ABC is not re-publishing in full and unquestioned all news statements, speeches, or other utterances by Donald Trump or issued by his presidential campaign team.

“Another item lambasted ABC TV’s Insiders program for impudently airing an interview with a federal ‘teal’ independent MP, with another item lambasting the ABC’s News Breakfast program for insolently engaging an ABC employee to help deliver the program’s regular newspaper analysis segment.
“Another item lambasted the ABC’s Radio Nation program Late Night Live for deliberately not replacing now-retired host Phillip Adams with a far right-wing host and for not interviewing only far right-wing guests.
“There were several other items in his Media watch Dog column that didn’t lambast the ABC and we’ll be having a chat with Gerard about that slip-up.
“On the same day Gerard also wrote a lengthy column lambasting the ABC for not re-publishing in full and unquestioned all news statements, speeches, or other utterances by Donald Trump or issued by his presidential campaign team. (below)

“Gerard rightly, … I mean Gerard Rightly complained in that column that the ABC is not engaging in ‘objective’ reporting of Trump.”
The News Crap Australia insider confirmed that one senior executive within the Murdoch-controlled company had read both of Henderson’s columns and called the emergency meeting after drawing the conclusion that that the company needed to shed its numerous far right-wing Righters, including Henderson himself, if it did not want itself labelled as not delivering objective reporting.
“The executive concerned was a fairly new addition to the senior ranks of the company so they still had some very naive ideas about how the Murdoch media works,” the insider said.
“But luckily as soon as the meeting started, more experienced hands were able to explain that in fact the Murdoch media both here in Australia and in the United States does deliver objective reporting when it comes to far right-wing politicians such as Donald Trump in the US or Peter Dutton here – the objective, of course, being to see them both elected as US President again and as Australian PM.
“That seemed to settle any concerns and as a result that particular executive will soon be an executive.
“Sorry, I should make it clear that they will soon be an ex-executive,” the insider said.
