Given Joe Biden’s decision to quit the presidential race, The Bug will set aside its normal Xcrement-of-the-Week rules and let this week’s column be dominated by the xcrement that has flowed freely into our competition barrel this morning, just outside the normal cut-off point for nominations.
And to be fair, Biden’s decision to pull the pin did come on a Sunday arvo US time, so it’s all sort of within our competition guidelines.
Our judges decided to wrap the blue riband this week around the neck of celebrated retired journalist Tony Koch, for his heartfelt support (above and below) for Kamala Harris should she become the Democrats’ presidential candidate.

An appalling orange criminal baboon indeed, Tony.
Also offering very harsh words about Trump was Jenny Frecklington-Jones, et, etc, who xcremented on his rambling speech at the Republican National Convention while having a dig at the Australian mainstream mediocre in the process.

Riffing on the RNC was this clever X post from our regular contributor Pup Fiction. Bandaid’s Tale indeed.

Pity the US and the world in general, and especially Ukraine, if Trump somehow gets a second term. That is all. Thank you.
So let’s hear from some people making the point that the Republicans have just lost a major campaign point with Biden quitting the race; November’s run-off is no longer between two senile old men whom the US population were largely unimpressed with anyway.
Here’s E. Jean Carroll, The Lincoln Project and Alex Cole.
