Biden hits the phones

The social isolation imposed on US President Joe Biden following his diagnosis with COVID has given him time to “hit the phones” to call fellow Democrats and shore up his candidacy for the November election, according to sources within the US Congress. (main picture)

“The President is back in Washington and he rang me personally to say he is making best use of the time he now has to discuss with his supporters his plans for the election campaign,” one member of Congress who requested anonymity told The Bug’s Washington DC bureau.

“He shared some of his campaign tactics including his plans to visit all 45 US states before election day,” the source said.

“He was also very disparaging about his Republican opponent, saying that only he could defeat William McKinley and give the leadership the United States and the world needs as we approach the 20th century.”

The estate of the late French artist, Yves Klein, is launching court actions in dozens of nations around the world seeking compensation from thousands of corporations for alleged copyright breaches.

A spokesperson for the Klein Foundation said the action was sparked following the worldwide outage of IT systems caused by a rogue code distributed by US-based security software firm Crowdstrike.

“We have been very disturbed by vision in news reports of computer screens around the world showing what is being called ‘the blue screen of death’,” a Foundation spokesperson said.

“These screen images are clearly a rip-off of Yves Klein’s famous work Blue Monochrome. (below)

“Yves Klein was the creator of that landmark painting and the Foundation continues to guard his works, reputation, and other assets.

“To assert our copyright and to protect Yves Klein’s reputation as a proponent of nouveau realisme we are launching legal proceedings against anyone, anywhere who wilfully displayed a completely blue computer screen in the past 24 hours,” the spokesperson said.
