Who would have guessed that the far-right wing Donald Trump protection racket – aka the Murdoch media – would have blamed “the left” and President Joe Biden for the former US President’s shooting?

Just about everyone on the face of the earth, suggest our Media Glass House researchers.

In the US Murdoch’s outlets such as Fox News were a 24/7 cheer squad for Trump in office and after he lost office it wilfully peddled his inflammatory lies about losing the 2020 election that ratcheted up the temperature of what passes for political discourse in the US.

Fox News went somewhat cool on Trump when it copped a huge penalty in a defamation action that proved it had knowingly aired his lies about the outcome of the 2020 poll.

But recently as Trump appeared set to return to office, News Crap in the US and elsewhere has once again been sucking up to him.

Here in Australia on Monday, far-right wing News Crap Australia columnist Andrew Bolt was just one of many to identify “the left” as the culprits for creating the febrile political climate for the shooting to occur. (below)

Apparently, according to Bolt, Biden has demonised Trump as a wanna-be dictator who has to be stopped.

He seems to have ignored all the evidence that shows Trump does want to be a dictator and that Biden hasn’t used the inflammatory language and lies that Trump always employs every hour of every day.

Our MGH researchers could have sworn it was Trump, not Biden, who has repeatedly declared his desire to subvert the US Constitution. They seem to recall it was Trump, not Biden, who sparked an insurrection at the US Capitol that risked the lives of elected officials and innocent staff in a bid to subvert the constitutional process for declaring the 2020 election result.

They also seem to recall it was Trump, not Biden, who was quite relaxed about the possibility of his Vice-President being strung up by the neck by the Proud Boys until dead for refusing to subvert the Constitution.

They also can’t recall Biden promising to pardon the January 6 “hostages” for their efforts to destroy the US Capitol along with a little thing called democracy.

Bolt also ignores the repeated and violent language and imagery trump has employed to attack “the Biden crime family” and Biden as “the most corrupt President in history”.

Yet apparently it’s all Joe’s fault which is the same line taken by News Crap Australia’s resident political comedy writer James Morrow. (below)

Morrow toed the News Crap line and echoed Bolt’s anti-Biden attacks and suggested Trump’s persistent violent rhetoric played no role in the creation of a political climate that so easily trips over the line into violence.

But he added Vice-President Kamal Harris into the mix. Incidentally, that’s the Vice-President whose potential murder hasn’t been facilitated by the current President.

Morrow presented as evidence of Harris’s culpability for the shooting a recent speech of hers in which she said Trump’s record showed he “should never again have the chance to stand behind a microphone”.

“Did someone take her literally?” was Morrow’s punchline no doubt having forensically examined the weekend crime scene to discover Trump had been speaking into a microphone when shot.

That’s some comedy gold right there, according to our MGH researchers.

News Crap Australia’s efforts to mimic its American cousins extended to an editorial in the Daily Telegraph (below)that, you guessed it, blamed Joe Biden for Trump getting shot.

According to the editorial it had been President Biden’s stated intention when taking office “to calm things down” in the American political system after the heated arguments generated by Trump’s lies in the aftermath of the election he lost but claimed to have won.

“But things have not calmed down much at all. Quite the opposite, in fact,” said the Daily Telegraph. Again, it’s all Joe’s fault.

All such right-wing ranting is very much in line with the aims of the Murdochs (below).

They can’t wait to have the divisive, destructive, and dangerous Donald Trump back in the White House so they can return to having their Fox News channel and its many other outlets act as his PR machine, just as its News Crap Australia operations Down Under play the role of ad agency for the Liberal Party and its far-right, divisive, and destructive leader.
