Goodness gracious us! It didn’t take long for the conspiracy theorists, the cranks, the nutters and the just-plain-crazies to come out of the woodwork after the Trump shooting, did it?

There was so much of it that The Bug‘s Xcrement-of-the-Week judges decided not to award any particular winner but just to laud the countless absurd X postings that flowed almost as quickly as the blood from Trump’s injured ear.

We have concentrated this issue to Xers who immediately saw the whole thing as an inside job! Are they now embarrassed about the dead and the injured? Of course not. They’ll have their explanations. The corpses of the shooter and the man in the audience were stolen from a recent nearby cemetery internments. Easily done. The two badly injured Trump audience members were highly skilled stuntpeople taking one for the Trump team! Probably feigning their injuries anyway!

We almost feel guilty running these it’s-all-faked! line – but then again, this is America, so is it fake?

Seeing we’re giving them their one moment of fame before our Bug reader, we won’t bother naming them twice as we usually do.

So here they are. Enjoy! Marvel at their stupidity or insight as you deem fit.

A final Bug comment. No doubt the smugerati in Australia’s mainstream mediocre will be using the Trump shooting to once again lambast the social mediocre that they hate. But our view is simple: what real harm do these conspiracy theorists, the cranks, the nutters and the just-plain-crazies do when they have their moment in the Xcremental universe with their nonsense that’s largely confined to the rubbish bin as the facts emerge.

Are they any worse than some in our own mainstream mediocre, who yesterday afternoon announced as fact – not attributed to anyone – that in fact Trump has not been shot; only hit by a piece of glass from a shattered autocue?
