WASHINGTON DC: The White House says it has resolved a public argument with Hollywood actor George Clooney over President Joe Biden’s fitness for office.

White House spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, (below) said Mr Biden and his senior staff held a lengthy meeting with Mr Clooney at the White House in the hours leading up to the President’s live news conference today.

Ms Jean-Pierre said the President (pictured at left in main picture just prior to entering the meeting) discussed at length his situation with Mr Clooney and an agreement was struck for the A-list actor to be more directly involved in the presidential campaign.

“Although Mr Clooney will no longer donate funds or personally generate funds for the President’s campaign, he has agreed to help out in other important ways,” she said.

Ms Jean-Pierre said the details of those arrangements would not be disclosed at this time.

However, she did say that President Biden was visibly “invigorated and uplifted” after leaving the meeting. (at right in main picture)

Ms Jean-Pierre took the opportunity to apologise for any suggestion that she or the White House had misled the American people or other democrats about the President’s personal condition.

“Today’s meeting will draw a line under those concerns and we will move on,” she said.

“I can confidently say that Americans and the world will start to see a different Joe Biden from now on in this campaign.”
