The White House says President Joe Biden’s performance at the NATO summit in Washington proves he is fit to run for a second term.
Mr Biden was heavily scrutinised during the meeting of leaders from NATO member nations both during official summit proceedings and at associated social events such as his informal meeting with new UK Prime Minister, Sir Kier Starmer, and German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz. (main picture)
The official view of the President’s staff was echoed by a snap vox pop undertaken by The Bug’s bureau in Miami, Florida.
We present a sample of responses given to our reporters when asked: “Should President Biden run for a second term?”

Don T. Rump, 78 – businessman, Palm Beach, Florida
“I don’t want sleepy, senile Joe … Ooops. I mean, I don’t want President Joe Biden to drop out of the race. No way. My wife also wants Joe to run and for me to play a big role in the coming campaign because if he runs I’ll end up working in Washington, a long way from here and her for the next four years.”

Donna Tramp, 78 – housewife Palm Beach, Florida
“President Trump did so much for women, and to women as well. I voted for him last time and in 2016. But I’d certainly like to see Joe Biden run. In fact I’d settle for seeing him walk briskly.”

Donaldo Trumpet, 78 – illegal immigrant, Mexico City, Mexico
“I want to see Senor Biden re-elected so I can bring all my family of petty criminals, drug dealers, and rapists across the border to live in America and take jobs off Americans.”

Donald Jaytrump, 78 – professional golfer, Palm Beach, Florida
“I think he should run. If he runs I’m certain he’ll help make America great again! Did I tell you I won eight club championships this morning?”
