Plans in train for Trump’s return

WASHINGTON DC: US President Joe Biden’s refusal to heed calls for him to stand aside as the Democratic Party’s candidate for this year’s presidential elections has forced US government officials to begin making special preparations in the now likely event of Donald Trump’s re-election.

“Admittedly it is very early in the process for us to start planning transitional arrangements,” one official said on condition of anonymity.

“But the fact President Biden is not budging from his position as the Democrats’ candidate means the likelihood of Mr Trump winning in November is now almost a sure thing so we must be ready for that.

“The biggest challenge we face is accommodating President Trump if he is given any custodial sentence on the many charge he is facing.

“We think we’ve solved that one by installing a new presidential office at the medium-security Cumberland Federal Correctional Institute in the state of Maryland just over 100 miles from Washington DC. (main picture)

“The new Rectangular Office will stand in for the Oval Office at the White House for as long as Mr Trump may be detained during his possible second term after being sworn in on January 20 next year.

“To make him feel at home, the prison’s B Wing where the new office is located will be renamed the West Wing.

“We’ve also got plans in train to paint the entire prison in a nice bright white, causing some of us to nickname it The White Big House,” the official said.
