UK GENERAL ELECTION:
LONDON: A large number of senior UK newspaper editors have been summarily dismissed for missing the big story from day one of the British election campaign.
Editors with a combined experience of hundreds of years were shown the door, and not just at News Corporation mastheads across the country.
The Bug understands Rupert Murdoch personally sacked at least 22 of his own organisation’s senior editors at titles including The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times.
Many other senior production people lost their jobs at rival right-wing papers including The Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph and The Spectator.
The Bug spoke to the long-term editor-in-chief of The Times as he exited that newspaper’s HQ at 1 London Bridge Place (pictured at top, left).
His eyes were still brimming with tears after the obscenity-laden bollocking Rupert Murdoch gave him by satellite telephone as he flew out of Australia after forewarning of major structural changes in News Corp papers there.
“He accused me of not running on our front page on Friday morning the monster gaffe committed by Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer on the first day of the campaign that surely must have cost him any chance of the keys to Number 10.
“I think that’s monstrously unfair seeing Starmer was yet to say anything after the snap July 4 poll was called by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.”
“All Murdoch did was shout back: ‘Do you think I give a flying fuck about that, you stupid, stupid cunt!’
“The day-one major gaffe by the commie woke left is what we’ve always done here and especially in Australia. You had to know that.
“So grab your miserly and pathetic personal items and get the fuck out of my building. You are a disgrace to modern, 21st Century, journalism.”
