US gets tough on Israel

WASHINGTON DC: American Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has released a transcript of the telephone call in which he advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US was pausing its supply of ammunition to the Israeli Defence Force.

In the call Mr Austin (left in main picture) tells Mr Netanyahu (far, far right in main picture) that the Biden administration was toughening its stand on the Gaza conflict by applying an arms supply pause to express its opposition to Israeli’s decision to go ahead with an offensive in the city of Rafah in Gaza.

The Bug presents a transcript of their conversation:

Lloyd Austin LA): I formally advise you, Mr Prime Minister, that the pause starts right now as I speak.

Benjamin Netanyahu (BN): How long will it last?

LA: Huh?

BN: When will the arms supply pause end?

LA: Oh, right about now.
